1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Kerah application (\u201CApp\u201D), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions (\u201CTerms\u201D). If you do not agree, please do not use the App. The App is provided by Kerah - F.Z.E., a Free Zone Establishment registered in Ajman Free Zone, Ajman, United Arab Emirates (\u201CKerah\u201D, \u201Cwe\u201D, \u201Cus\u201D). These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Kerah - F.Z.E.. Our trade licence and registration details are available on request.

2. Description of Service

Kerah is a household food safety and wellness platform that provides:

\u2022 AI-powered personalized meal planning and swap suggestions

\u2022 Food safety scanning (barcode, ingredients, and nutrition label analysis)

\u2022 Allergen detection and Halal compliance evaluation

\u2022 Nutrition tracking and macro logging

\u2022 Fitness activity tracking and workout guidance

\u2022 Fasting timer and habit tracking

\u2022 Grocery list management with pantry integration

\u2022 Lunchbox planning for children

\u2022 Elder and family caregiving coordination

\u2022 Pet profile and feeding schedule management

\u2022 Health device integration (Apple Health, Google Fit)

\u2022 AI Coach for personalized wellness guidance

\u2022 Weekly behavioral intelligence insights

The App is designed for informational and organizational purposes and does not replace professional medical, dietary, or health advice.

3. Account Registration

You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration, including a valid email address for OTP verification. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities under your account. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. Anyone under 18 can be added as a child profile by an adult household owner — children do not have their own accounts. One person may not maintain more than one account.

4. Household & Family Features

As a household owner, you may invite family members and caregivers with specific roles (MEMBER or CAREGIVER). You are responsible for:

\u2022 Obtaining appropriate consent before adding individuals\u2019 profiles

\u2022 Managing role-based permissions for household members

\u2022 Supervising child profiles (KID type), which are created and fully controlled by the parent/guardian

\u2022 Overseeing elder care profiles, including check-ins, escalation chains, and care documents

\u2022 Ensuring pet profiles contain accurate health and feeding information

Invited members\u2019 access can be modified or revoked at any time through the App.

5. Subscription & Payments

Certain features require a paid subscription processed securely through the app store you installed Kerah from. Subscription fees are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or annual). You may cancel your subscription at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Prices are subject to change with 30 days\u2019 prior notice. Refund requests are handled according to the policies of the app store that processed your purchase. Free trial periods, if offered, convert to paid subscriptions unless cancelled before the trial ends.

6. AI-Powered Features & Disclaimer

Kerah uses artificial intelligence for meal planning, food safety evaluation, nutrition label scanning, taste profiling, weekly insights, and AI Coach responses. Important:

\u2022 All AI-generated content is for informational purposes only and is not medical, dietary, or professional advice

\u2022 AI recommendations include explainability \u2014 you can see why a suggestion was made, which constraints were applied, and a confidence score

\u2022 Food safety evaluations detect known allergens, Halal compliance issues, and harmful additives, but cannot guarantee 100% accuracy

\u2022 Nutrition label scanning uses AI vision to extract ingredients and nutrition data from product photos; results should be verified

\u2022 Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before making significant changes to your diet, exercise, or health routine

\u2022 Kerah is not liable for any health outcomes resulting from use of the App or reliance on AI-generated content

7. Food Safety & Scanning

Kerah provides food safety scanning through barcode lookup, ingredient text analysis, and nutrition label photo scanning. These features evaluate products against your household\u2019s dietary constraints (allergens, Halal rules, ingredient avoidance lists). While we strive for accuracy:

\u2022 Product information depends on third-party databases and may be incomplete or outdated

\u2022 AI-extracted nutrition label data should be verified against the physical product

\u2022 Safety evaluations are informational and do not replace professional allergen testing

\u2022 You are responsible for verifying critical safety information, especially for severe allergies

\u2022 Override decisions on safety warnings are logged in an immutable audit trail

8. Health Device Integration

You may optionally connect health platforms (Apple Health, Google Fit) to sync fitness and wellness data (steps, calories, heart rate, sleep, HRV). This integration:

\u2022 Requires your explicit permission and can be disconnected at any time

\u2022 Is used solely to enhance your fitness tracking and personalize recommendations

\u2022 Does not write data back to your health platform

\u2022 Data from connected devices is not shared with third parties

9. User Content

You retain ownership of any content you submit (e.g., meal photos, nutrition label photos, care notes, feedback). By submitting content, you grant Kerah a non-exclusive, worldwide license to use, process, and store this content solely to provide and improve the service. Nutrition label photos are processed for ingredient extraction and are not stored permanently. You must not submit content that is unlawful, harmful, or infringes on third-party rights.

10. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

\u2022 Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App

\u2022 Use the App for any unlawful purpose

\u2022 Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users\u2019 accounts or household data

\u2022 Transmit malware, spam, or harmful content

\u2022 Scrape, harvest, or systematically extract data from the App

\u2022 Resell, redistribute, or sublicense the service without authorization

\u2022 Intentionally provide false safety or allergy information that could endanger other household members

\u2022 Abuse the AI Coach or any AI feature by attempting to extract harmful or inappropriate content

11. Intellectual Property

All content, trademarks, logos, designs, algorithms, AI models, and software within the App are the property of Kerah or its licensors. This includes the meal planning engine, food safety evaluation system, taste profiling algorithms, and behavioral intelligence framework. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without prior written permission.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct harmful to other users or the service. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. You may delete your account and associated data at any time from within the app (Profile → Edit Profile → Delete Account), or by contacting support@kerah-os.com. Data deletion is completed within 45 days, except for anonymized analytics and legally required audit records.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kerah shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to:

\u2022 Health outcomes from following AI-generated meal plans or recommendations

\u2022 Allergic reactions due to incomplete or inaccurate product data

\u2022 Loss of data due to device or connectivity issues

\u2022 Decisions made based on AI Coach responses or weekly insights

\u2022 Business interruption or any commercial losses

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Kerah, its affiliates, officers, and employees from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights.

15. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via the App or email at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you disagree with any changes, you may delete your account before they take effect.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, as applied in the Emirate of Ajman. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of the Emirate of Ajman, United Arab Emirates. Nothing in this section removes any right you have under the mandatory consumer-protection or data-protection law of your country of residence. We always aim to resolve disputes amicably \u2014 please contact us first.

17. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.

19. Language

These Terms are provided in English and in other languages for your convenience. We aim to keep every version consistent. If a translation differs from the English version, the English version applies, except where the mandatory law of your country of residence requires otherwise \u2014 in which case the version in your language applies to the extent of that requirement. Nothing here removes a right you have under the consumer-protection law of your country.
